I was initially introduced to this brand by Lisa Eldridge, she constantly raved about their products on her YouTube makeup tutorials and I have always wanted to try this brand. Fast forward a years later, Bourjois finally expanded its wings into the South East Asian market, and I was beyond thrilled because this brand plays an important role in makeup history as it has been around for a 151 years. Here's a snippet of its history straight from Bourjois official website,
"In 1863, Bourjois was born on the great boulevards of Paris in the theatre district, at a time when France was the world's second leading economic power. The actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin was the company's first creator; he prepared makeup and perfumes
for actors and actresses in the comfort of his own home. In 1868, Ponsin entrusted his entire activity to Alexandre-Napoléon Bourjois. The company blossomed in the hands of Monsieur Bourjois, who made it internationally known."
The reason I have always been so intrigued by this brand is because it has so many products that are high in quality but will not cost you an arm and a leg. This high street brand is famous for its iconic little round pot blushes and its matte bronzer called Delice de Poudre that I absolutely adore. It literally looks like a chocolate bar, what's not to like??!!! Also, besides the likes of Revlon and L'Oreal, Bourjois is one of the most popular high street brand in the UK when it comes to good foundation ranges.
I stumbled upon a promo post on Instagram about Bourjois's launch in Malaysia and I was so excited to get my fix. Their first store is a tiny shop in Sunway Pyramid, I think it was located near Muse by Watsons because I remember getting distracted by an array of perfumes on the way there and then I saw the Bourjois's pink signboard and my heart skipped a beat.
What I Bought
I wanted to buy
everything but instead I only bought what my bank account would allow me for
that week
Color Boost Lip Crayon - RM 32.90 (in Fuchsia Libre)
New Khol and Contour - RM 22.90
Little Round Pot Blush - RM 39.90
Healthy Balance Unifying Powder (Poudre Unifiante) - RM43.90
Healthy Mix Serum Foundation - RM57.90
All in all, I spent
about RM 191.50 for 5 products so I was feeling quite good about that. When I
got home and I told my mum what I had recently purchased, she asked me "Oh
my god, what do you need so much makeup for?" and I was like "But I
got 5 products at only RM191" and to that she just shakes her head and
smile. Deep down I know she understands :) we all have our dirty little
addictions, it just so happens that mine is this :)
That's all for this week
folks, I know I promised on my Instagram that I'd also give a review of each of
these products but I took too many pictures for the review section that I
couldn't possibly fit the review in this post. So, I decided to divide this
into two, the first part being this haul post and next week I will post the
review on each product that I bought in the second part which is going to be up
next Saturday.
So that's it for this week's post. Hope you guys enjoyed reading my little haul post and I hope that it was helpful in any way. Stay beautiful, my hippies xx.
